The Artistry Concepts
Hair Replication Center has our own laboratory in our
on-site Research and Development Division. The
ACHM2® has been perfected and filed for
non-provisional patenting, but
The Center continues to research and address numerous
issues in this field, as well as new innovations in
hair loss.

We have
already compiled numerous cases of the
negative long-term effects regarding
scarring from over-pigmentation of the
scalp from temporary methods.

Over
Pigmentation in Temporary Methods
|
The ACHM2®
was specifically developed as a one-time
permanent application for longevity.
|
|
Studying the result of (semi) permanent
cosmetics over many years, Weston ceased
utilizing temporary cosmetic pigments 15 years
ago. Excessive scalp scarring eventually led
to the skin no longer healthy enough to accept
additional applications.
As these same cosmetic pigments are utilized
in temporary hair tattoo methods, The Center's
foremost priority is addressing these repeated
applications. Repeated
application of these temporary-only methods
are not recommended and we routinely receive
requests for consultations for
corrections.
As the scalp
has an entirely different consistency from any
other place on the body, the scalp is much
more sensitive and prone to scarring.
Repeated scalp pigmentation every several
years eventually leads to excessive scarring.
In turn, the scalp eventually rejects the
pigment entirely, as well as an off-color
shadow remaining.
Even worse, the standard
"special" needles that are used
in these temporary methods are very large,
thereby accentuating the scarring process.
Any remaining healthy hair follicles may also
be damaged.
As early as
2004, the FDA had issued alerts regarding
cosmetic pigments and scarring.
Temporary cosmetic pigments/procedures should
never be used on
the scalp! You may visit the
CORRECTIONS GALLERY
as well as the

PROCEDURE ACHM2 GALLERY to view the
final result of a correction to a temporary
method. |

Pigment Color Change
|
The
ACHM2® SMART Pigments were developed
without off-color additives and to
last permanently.
|
|
As mentioned above, Weston ceased using
cosmetic pigments 15 years ago not only
because their temporary nature caused
scarring, but also causing unwarranted color
change. Because all cosmetic pigments contain
off-color additives such as blue and green,
pigment color change is of great concern for
men who opt for these temporary scalp
procedures.
Most providers utilize cosmetic pigments that
are specifically designed to intentionally
fade within a few year's time (above temporary
methods). A promotional mailing that was
received by Artistry Concepts from one of the
major manufacturers of cosmetic pigments stated
in one of their articles: "Touchups, good for
business." And this is the case
with repetitive
scalp applications required every few years
at the same original cost.
For instance,
cosmetic pigments offer various "corrective"
colors. If the pigment turns gray/blue,
an orange pigment is recommended to "correct"
the color. Pigments that have turned orange
are corrected with a green pigment. Red
is used to counteract colors turning blue on
olive-toned skin.
Correcting
the result of off-colors with more off-color
pigment should be a prohibited practice.
Unless one is an experienced artist in all
phases of art and has a solid understanding of
the color wheel; the practitioner should not
use these pigments. They do not and cannot
create natural tones and colors required for
long-term tattoo hair replication.
Cosmetic pigments that are
termed "specifically blended" pigments,
also leave a shadow residue on the scalp in green,
blue and even sometimes red. They are only
specifically blended to fade for
reapplication.
In the unfortunate circumstance that you need
to have cosmetic pigments lasered off, you
will be required to endure numerous
treatments. Because of these off-colors in
cosmetic pigments (and commercial tattoo
pigments), the laser process is dramatically
increased. In addition, laser removal
will destroy any remaining natural hair follicles. Don't keep the laser clinics
busy. Colors are the most difficult to
remove. The ACHM2®
SMART Pigments™
do not contain
any off-color additives. |

Migration of Pigment
|
The ACHM2® micro needles were developed and
technologically engineered to be the smallest
possible but still be sufficient to carry
pigment to the scalp. |
|
Migration, also known as
"bleeding" of the pigment, occurs when an
inexperienced
practitioner, specialist or technician applies the pigment
too deep into the scalp. This results in a shadow
occurring around the initial needle injection point.
This result also occurs with
the use of improper pigments and needle size. Tattoo
studios utilize outlining pigments as well as specific
needles designed for outlining of the tattoo. The
combination of these two applied to the scalp will
instantaneously migrate.
In relation to improper needle size, all other providers
make use of a "three round"
needle. This needle applies a "follicle" four to five
times larger than that of the ACHM2® needle. Not
only much larger, but applying these "points" too close
will also result in these larger points eventually
migrating together, making one large blotch.

Scalp Conditions
| Artistry Concepts is
working with dermatologists to address these
concerns to be able to offer our services to
this broader range of hair loss sufferers.
|
|
Scalp conditions appear to be on the increase. Hair
shaft defects, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff),
psoriasis, excessive dryness/oiliness and "weathering" are
only a few conditions that can affect the longevity of scalp
pigmentation. One of our very first recipients of hair
replication (not the ACHM2®) was afflicted with Rosecea of the
scalp. Some of these conditions are more prominent with
African-Americans.

Areas of
Development and Innovation |
 |
The
ACHM2® needle has been engineered to be the smallest needle that can retain a
sufficient amount of pigment for delivery to the scalp.
Weston has
recently designed a smaller needle yet and he is
collaborating with two stem cell scientists for the
possibility of re-engineering this needle for utilization
in the possible delivery of stem cells for hair cloning.
While the ACHM2® is
an excellent alternative to hair loss, we are excited
about the possibility of contributing to a potential cure
for hair loss.

|
Hair Transplant Donor Scars |
The
unsightly appearance of hair transplant scars cannot
always be completely camouflaged with the ACHM2®
. The problem being the unstable scar
tissue is lacking collagen to produce normal-looking skin.
This device is
designed to stimulate collagen reproduction in existing scar
tissue, thereby creating a smoother and more natural look
to your scar.
This will greatly assist your chances in
the better success of the camouflage result.

Artistry Concepts Clarifying Shampoo |
The scalp can develop excess amounts of daily
grime and oil buildup. Most commercially-offered shampoos
are concerned only with additives for body, shine,
fragrance, etc. All these additives, plus environment
factors, block the pores of
the scalp and can block healthy new hair growth, even
stunt and paralyze what hair you have left.
This new product is 100%
natural, containing no cosmetics or drugs. By keeping
your scalp thoroughly cleansed with this product, your
scalp is healthier and your pores are unclogged, allowed
to "breathe" and permitting
possible new hair growth.
This product is not required to maintain your ACHM2® , but
once formally available, every client
will leave
Artistry Concepts with a complimentary sample.
