The ACHM History

In The Beginning

When a friend approached Mark Weston 18 years ago with the request of tattooing hair stubble on his balding head, Mark proceeded to accommodate his friend.  With the conventional tattoo equipment available at that time, the hair "stubble" look was created and Mark had several more opportunities since that time throughout the years to "create" the stubble look.  But with the onset of the popularity of the buzz cut, Mark started receiving more inquiries about the hair loss tattoo stubble look and hair simulation further.

After someone emailed a generic and unmarked photo of  a  micro hair tattooing shaded scalp to him in early 2009,  Weston decided to explore this more in detail because of the numerous inquiries he was receiving.

After utilizing the same commercial needles (the same that were utilized in the emailed micro hair tattoo scalp photo), these earlier hair replications of over two years ago pictured below did not satisfy Mark Weston's personal strive for total perfection:
COPYWRITTEN MATERIAL      One of the first "hair replications" done was in February of 2009 (not the ACHM™).

This was a challenging case as this gentleman had a birthmark on the back of his head (far left photo) as well as rosacea.

Another photograph of an earlier replication (not the ACHM™) to the left was taken immediately after the procedure.  This man's head still needed shampooing to remove excess pigment lying in the pores of the scalp.

Also like the man above, he was also happy with his replication.

Ironically, these past early replications were all applied with the same commercial "special" needles and equipment that are presently being used  in generic applications such as micro hair tattooing, hair simulation or cosmetic transdermal hair replication.

The photo to the above left was a photo the man took on his I-Phone.  The large "point" areas were created by the very same "special" needles that all other providers currently use.   The middle photo was taken immediately after his completed procedure with a higher resolution camera.  The photo to the far right shows how he looked in the summer of 2009.  This man was and is still happy with his early replication.  However, this look is the similar result you will receive with any other provider.

Mark  Weston then ceased performing any hair replication procedures as this was clearly an undeveloped process that needed  substantial improvement.  Based on his own experience above as well as the unnatural look depicted of the man in the generic scalp tattoo photo that was sent to him, this became the beginning of the new generation of hair replication research and engineering.

The First Generation ACHM

Weston then commenced research and development to engineer a needle that was smaller than what was available from tattoo and permanent cosmetic supply as their "smallest" needle.

Weston proceeded to develop proprietary equipment to accommodate this new, smaller needle size.  This then graduated from simple "hair replication" to the first Artistry Concepts Hybrid Method (ACHM™).  The ACHM™  results were astonishing and this first generation ACHM™  remained in application until November of 2009.

Arrival of the ACHM2®  - December 2009
Refined Equipment, Smaller Needle & SMART Pigments™
Weston then drove himself to further perfect a specific application technique with greatly refined equipment in order to replicate the most realistic hair follicles possible.   Again engineering a tinier needle yet, he also developed a unique application method and equipment that resulted in the finalized and perfected ACHM2® in December 2009.  To protect his research and refinement, the ACHM2®   was filed for patenting and trademarking.

ACHM2® SMART Pigments
With 35 years of tattooing experience, Mark Weston had been blending his own pigments for over 15 years for tattooing and micropigmentation.  As these custom-blended pigments had a proven track record for longevity and color stability, Weston modified these formulas further to specifically develop a new line of pigments for use on the scalp only.

The ACHM2®  SMART PIGMENTS™ are derived from a powder base and prepared under sterilized conditions in The Center's own lab, and are designed to uniquely work with your body's own natural chemistry to alleviate blue and green (olive) scalp skin undertones.    They remain true to color without fading to blues or greens.

These unique pigments are permanent, but were developed to naturally age with you should your own hair start to gray in later years.   You may view and excellent example of the SMART Pigments result  with a man who grayed within a year's time.  The ACHM2®  SMART PIGMENTS™  do not contain any heavy metals nor do they contain blue and other off-color additives that will turn color.

Providing minimal irritation to the scalp with an astonishing healing time, the ACHM2®   remains at the forefront in the tattoo hair replication field.   With over 500 ACHM2® procedures, Artistry Concepts®  has clearly been chosen as the preferred global leader.  Weston has been termed the "maverick" in this field.
